Yellow Bird is the story of a widow who takes in a refugee. Gráinne was inspired by the refugee and housing crises, two of the biggest issues in Ireland. ![]() “The Storyland experience catapulted us, as a company, to get the opportunity to work with a larger crew.” The film follows the characters from the TV series, a group of Irish slackers who travel to Poland to follow the Republic of Ireland team at UEFA Euro 2012. “We were so delighted to procure the funding and we were honoured that a company so remote managed to get the contract,” she told The Echo. The Hardy Bucks Movie 2013 Irish comedy film based on the RTÉ Two sitcom Hardy Bucks, directed by Mike Cockayne. ![]() Stori Creative’s final product, a short film entitled Yellow Bird, went live earlier this week, much to the delight of writer and director, Gráinne Dwyer. The latter, an initiative run by RTÉ and Northern Ireland Screen, gives emerging Irish creative talent an opportunity to make original dramas available to a wider audience on RTÉ Player. Stori Creative, in Skibbereen, was granted €31,500 as part of Storyland 2019. A West Cork production company’s new short film is available to view on RTÉ’s online platform.
